Education Requirements

Common Core State Standards have been approved by Idaho along with most other states in the country. These standards define the exact skills that students are expected to master in reading, language arts, and math. Wendell teachers receive essential professional development with these new rigorous standards to help ensure Wendell students are college and career ready by the end of high school.

The Department of Education for the state of Idaho requires all high school students to complete a senior project prior to graduation. Wendell High School implemented its first round of Senior Projects 2011-2012. Senior Projects provide students the opportunity to integrate many essential skills including reading, writing, researching, design, construction, interview, speaking, and presentation skills.

Other Education

Dual-credit education is available for high school students wishing to earn college credits while attending high school. Post-secondary education is available to Wendell residents through the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.
