City of Wendell’s original town plan in 1907 included a city park. The Wendell City Park is located in the 300 block of Main Street East and is a popular place for families to gather. Picnic areas, a playground, and barbecue facilities are available along with a bandstand and restrooms. Traditional community activities held in the park include Dairy Days, Independence Day Community Barbecue, and “Movie in the Park”. As the city grows, additional facilities such as volleyball courts have been requested.

McGinnis Park is located across from the Wendell High School at 757 East Main Street. The McGinnis Park swimming pool is open during the summer months offering swimming lessons and family night. Also available within the park are ball fields, tennis courts, and picnic areas.

South Central Idaho Veterans Park is located at 350 East Main by Wendell City Hall. The park was dedicated on Veteran’s Day 2005 to past, present, and future veterans in recognition of their service.
